Got My computer Back (Cody blonde Hair)

 Finally....I got my computer back!!!

Cost me $136 and he cleaned out the machine too.....bonus that we didn't lose anything!!!

Couldn't believe they kept it for a whole week, but at least I didn't lose anything and so far, those little bugs seem to be gone

I still don't have Internet Explorer but the Foxfire browser is working just fine, except for the fact that I don't have access to all the smilies and rich text like before

Soccer has started up here and so far out of the 5 games we had this week, we've won 4! It's real nice, since two of the kids were on teams that lost almost every game last year, and it was hard for the team to keep up any spirit

My workload is lighter at work and I have had the last two days off, but now it's back to work till next Tuesday. I haven't told the kids or even Mike yet, but my dad had been working on buying us a used 4 wheeler!! He's probably bringing it down this weekend...I think everyone will be quite pleased

Tomorrow nite is prom nite for Cody!! so hard to believe!!

Here's a pic that I found posted on one of my websites...he's about three or four here....his hair is brown really but bleached because of the sun

I've Got a Virus

I've been working on-line with someone all day to get rid of it!!

Things aren't going so well though, as I've lost my
Internet Explorer and now have to sign in through AOL...
thank goodness we haven't cancelled that yet...but I'd
forgotten how slow this was!

So if I dissappear for longer than usual, you'll know why

I am not having a good day

Happy Birthday Colton

10 years old today....my third son and still his little sister who will turn 7 soon is as big as he is!

Last nite we went out to celebrate because his big brothers were both busy for tonite.

We went to Kelsey's mainly because I had won a $50 gift certificate on the local radio station and also because it was Monday, kids eat free...bonus!!lol

We had a great time, had a french waiter who was in training I think, or just very new ;) He was a darling though and we left him quite a generous tip for all his trouble. Got free appetizers from the manager for the wait and for the noise of the party of over a dozen seated on the same level as us. We told him we didn't mind sitting there, with 4 kids we were used to the noise, LOL!

Then off to the mall to purchase the gift of choice.....the gift he's been asking for for over a year now, lol....heelies! Only place we could find them was SportCheck and boy were they expensive! Over $130 with taxes!!! Needless to say we told him that was the only gift he would be getting this year but he's okay with that because Gramma and his aunt come this weekend and he'll get more then, lol! He took them with him to school today, I just hope he doesn't get in trouble with them or especially doesn't lose the wheels which you have to put on and take off!

Don't have a birthday pic yet from this year but here's one of him on his 8th birthday with our pooch Drifter...he still pretty much looks the same, happy go lucky ;)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all mom's all over the world.

I truly hope that someone in your life recognizes you today for all that you are, and all that you do for so many people. But.....even if they don't just try to remember that in these times of war, greenhouse effect, poorer getting poorer and the rich getting richer....that it's us who can change the world....us who WILL change the world. By raising children that are more aware of what is wrong in this world and what they can do to help change that. Our children are our precious resource, our fulfillment at the end of a long day spent running this way and that for everyone but ourselves.

Please remember your Mother today, even if it's something small and simple like a phone call telling her you luv her....that's all she needs to hear :) It makes all the difference in the world!

Accident on the way to Work :(

 ...and it was a fatality!

Yesterday morning I came upon the scene of an accident early in the a.m. on my way to work. What I thought to be a car (found out later it was a truck...that's how smashed up it was!) was upside down in the ditch, and they were re-routing traffic...the whole road was closed. So I had to turn around and find a different way to work, which out in the country usually means alot of extra miles

Anyway, I had called the local radio station and reported it because of the detour, and less than a minute after I heard them report it on the radio, I got a call on my cell-phone...it was Mike and he wanted to know if I was okay! I hadn't thought to call him, but of course he would be worried when he heard because I travel this route every single day on my way to work and back

Which got me to thinking that in the last 5 or 6 years there have been 5 fatal accidents on my route to work....8 people killed. Kinda gets ya to thinking about how things can change so quickly on just a normal day and how lucky I am to make it back home safe and sound

Update...turns out this man was a well known local chef.
Cody had been to his house many times because he is friends
with his daughter and Cody's friend goes out with her

Lazy, Dazy Sunday

What a gorgeous weekend we are having here in south-eastern Ontario

Very quiet one for me...which is kinda nice, especially since it will be soccer season before long and things will never be quiet and lazy again, lol!! At least for the summer months!

Our oldest son has gone to Montreal with his class from school. They left by train on Friday and are expected home tonite around 9. The other two boys slept overnite at friends' houses after we went out for dinner at the local family restaurant in town. Lots of good food to fill you up. I had a chicken ceasar pita...mmmm...was it delicious! Looks like it may be the last time we get there as we hear from friends that they are moving to the next town....too far to just pop in for supper

Yesterday it was just Hannah and I in the a.m. because Mike went to a horse sale....thank goodness he didn't come home with any more!! I dropped Hannah off after lunch to a birthday party down the road and then I decided to go into town and treat myself. There's a new little shop that opened 'The Primitive Star' and I have been itchin' to get there and check it out! I only spent what Mike probably spent in gas to get there  lol. But look at the cute little girl I got!! I picked up the wooden candle too

Last nite after Mike got home we went and visited friends' and had a nice BBQ dinner with a little beer to wash it down  Picked up our wayward kids on the way home around midnite and everyone crashed....except me cuz I just had to see the latest episode of NIP/TUCK...doesn't that show just wierd you out?!! It's like a car crash...you know...how you know you shouldn't look but most often just can't help yourself?!

This morning I'm still the only one up...Hannah has gone off to Sunday School and the two boys haven't come downstairs yet! Need to mow the lawn again today and hang out the clothes in the washer but besides that and piddling around the garden I'm going to have a Lazy, Dazy Sunday

LINK OF THE DAY~ just had to share this with you  If you are a luver of prim graphics and like to PSP or Photoshop there is an awesome $1 sale on graphics at Designs by Trina. I got probably 1,000 cute, country, prim graphics for just $13 US! First time I've ever bought graphics on the web and when I paid with PayPal I had them in less than an hour

Going to the Drive In...SpiderMan 3

Here in south-eastern Ontario we are supposed to have a fantabulous weekend, endless sunshine and warm temps almost to the 20's Our grass needs to be cut again...so that'll be on the list of things to do for sure, lol.

It's my weekend off and the kids are hoping I will take them to the drive in tonite to see SpiderMan 3. I hope to get some propane for the BBQ today cuz we still haven't had our first one of the season!

Cody has gone to Montreal for the weekend with the school. He left on the train yesterday....I hope he's having a great time...I would luv to go to Montreal...I've never been and I only live 4-5 hours away!

Hannah is the only one home and she has a birthday party to attend this afternoon. The other two boys spent the nite at friends'.

Thursday Nites and I'm Glue

Yep, glued to the tube I am!!

Giving up Survivor tonite though, I didn't really bond with any of the cast this time around and it just seems to be the same ol', same ol' anymore doesn't it?

Just finished watching ER though.....and oh no, say it isn't so??!! How could they do that to Ray? Or to Neela?

Grey's Anatomy will be on at 9, and so will Supernatural....had to give up CSI because I just didn't have enough hours in one nite!! Why do they need to put all the best shows on one nite? I would luv to watch Ugly Betty....but just didn't have room for that when it premiered, so maybe I can catch summer reruns?

Hubby has gone to pick up Colin who is just getting home from a school trip to Ottawa...and tomorrow the oldest, Cody, is leaving for a 3 day trip to Montreal. He's at work right now...thank goodness, cuz he's making his own money to help pay for all the trips he's taken this year. I wish I could have gone on all those trips when I was young....now I go nowhere except the grocery store

I work tomorrow, a pick up and I'll be doing odd jobs....should be an easy day...though I'm really looking forward to the weekend off. It's suppose to be nothing but sunshine and warm temps, couldn't ask for anything better. So I'll probably get out the rest of the outdoor furniture and fire up the BBQ. Plans to go and do some serious beer drinking too with friends, now that her and I aren't working the opposite weekends anymore

Over the Hill and Around the Bend

Reading over my very last post here and it's been quite awhile hasn't it??

That's what that darned old psp did to me!!lol All my spare computer time goes to creating cute little works of art....well I think they're cute anyway

Well, today didn't start so bad anyway!

Sun was shining, I got in a little PSP time, hung out two loads of laundry...a good day off.

Once Cody got home from school, we went to pick up the little kids and then dropped him off at work and went to watch Colin play rugby at the school. Their team won and no one was seriously injured which is amazing....man, they're rough!!

Colin wanted to drive home and first we made a stop at McDonald's where we ate our Big Macs out on the patio and enjoyed the nice spring weather we are finally having.

Then on the way home it happened!! Up the big hill (McCauley Mountain) and around the bend on the way to our side road to get home....only Colin decided at the last minute that he was going to take the first side road instead of the second that we usually take, and of course he waited too long and when he tried to turn onto the gravel, he was still going too fast and slid right across the end of the side road and into the ditch on the other side!

The car went in nose first and we heard a bit of a scraping sound as we slid in, but we were all fine and by all accounts the car seemed fine also...just stuck, lol!! I put a call in to Mike, who of course didn't answer his phone...I swear I get that darned answering machine everytime I try to get ahold of him for something! Anyway, I put out a call to some other friends and no answer there either, but he called back and came out to see if he could pull us out with the truck. He couldn't, so we sent the little kids with him and Colin and I waited for the tow truck to come. Only cost me $40 and though the car seems to have a little leak of oil (we are keeping an eye on it for now), so I really think we came out lucky....could have been soooo much worse for sure!!!

I just hope that he has learnt his lesson about driving too fast on the gravel roads where you have no traction at times.

Anyway, once home I planted my pansies that I picked up yesterday on the way home from work, went out to say hello to the two new little foals, and then in to watch Dancing with the Stars....gonna be so hard to choose once it gets down to the last few teams!
