We've Got Babies....Lots of Them!

 Yep, it's spring, lol.

On the farm that means baby time

This little guy is just a few hours old and momma
surprised us! I had been watching another mare,
(who hasn't even foaled yet, four days later, lol)
and saw this little guy beside his mother in the same field, lol.

This Palamino mare started giving birth just before
supper about a week ago.
Most mares foal very quickly and you miss it, no matter
how often you check on them, lol.
So we put supper on hold and even the little kids got
to see her have this little colt.
Notice that white on his back leg there...
he's still trying to get out of the sack
when I took this pic
We were hoping for a little palamino but
he's all red just like his daddy who lives here too

This little appaloosa colt was the second to be born
about two weeks ago.
His mom isn't the friendliest mare, so it's kind hard
to get close to him in the field but when
we go out to pet the other colt (coming up in the next
pic) this little guy comes real close just wanting
to be spoiled but still afraid to get close enough
for you to touch him, lol!

This little paint colt has just stood up for the first time
He was the first to come this spring and we just
missed his birth, but as you can see he's still
pretty wet so isn't even an hour old yet.

This one is our little pet, lol!!
His mother is the black mare there which you can
hardly see and while she isn't broke to ride,
she is super friendly and so is he!
When we go out to the field he is eager to greet us
and get his neck or behind rubbed, lol.
He follows us around and this is what makes the
other colt in my previous post want some of that
luvin' too

We've already had two offers on this one and he's not even three weeks old yet

And even more babies!!
But these aren't the kind with a mane, lol.
Our Australian shepherd has 4 puppies.
This one is a red and white like two of the others,
and the last one is black and white.
In this pic he's only a two days old.
They all had to go get their tails docked when they
were just 3 days old which sounds horrible,
but that's what the breed does
They are just opening their eyes now, and are
starting to get their legs under them....
look out nowlol
