Colin and Trisha's Wedding June 27, 2026

 Finally, lol!

I was supposed to work the Wed, Thurs before the wedding but I took them off and was so glad I did. I spent Wed at the church with them and also Berlinda and her son Luke. We left around 7:30 and that Nite I was up twice with Charley Horses...I never get them (well, when I was pregnant)

It was a long day and they had that same long day on Thurs and Fri too. Trisha made the lasagna for dinner with the help of the church ladies. Fresh sourdough bread delivered to the church on Sat morning, Ceasar salad and a Taco Bar....Colin's request :)

The wedding was lovely, short and sweet. Trisha looked like a fairy princess and watching Colin's face, I couldn't tell if he was trying to hold back years with his funny little smile as she came down the aisle with her dad. The pastor and him kept looking at each other and smiling :)
Trisha hated being the center of attention so she didn't even have her own song as she came up the aisle.
Colin made the arbor and all the lanterns there. Most of the flowers were donated and arranged by friends from the church. While pictures were being taken they had charcuterie available for guests until dinner was served. The huge board was on loan from Leigh who they worked for at Jackson's Falls.
Dinner was lovely and very filling. Delicious! No real emcee to speak off so no one got up to speak for the couple. They said a few words at the end of the night but that was it. Even Mike didn't get up to welcome Trisha to the family. I was a little disappointed really. Though that was nothing compared to how disappointed I was that dad didn't show up. He has been dealing with cancer on his face again and he sent me a picture of three large boils it looked like that had almost grown into one the morning of the wedding. That's it. Pat texted to say that they were painful and he really didn't want to come and take the attention away from Colin and Trish. Really? That was the best he could do? I understood though. I mean they looked painful and it would be really intimidating to walk around with a big bandaid over his cheek but it's not like anyone would have said anything! The worse was when I found out that the next weekend on the Friday right after his pre op check  in at the hospital in Toronto, he headed straight for Hamilton to spend the weekend with some old guys at a race! Like seriously!? I was disappointed and sad and angry. I was looking forward to getting pictures of our whole family. I mean all of his kids, grandkids and great grandkids from our side were there! Ian told me he has never even met him :(
