Christmas is Over

I didn't have any gifts under the tree to unwrap Mike had stuck the cd's I asked for into my stocking, along with the card that had the money inside so that was it for me. I did get a lovely surprise at work though. When I went in for my first of the four in a row working at Christmas, there were 3 gifts and cards all lined up on our folding table in the laundry room. I got a cute little windchime with farm animals on it, a lovely glass blown ball with cute little snowmen on it and some yummy chocolates from 3 of the girls I work with...it was such a great surprise!!

Me new favourite memory had to do with work. The residents opened their gifts in the morning after breakfast and I had gone out to help. Alot of them had no families there helping them celebrate at all during the holidays, but they got so much joy out of opening the simplest little gifts with just us there to help them out. They couldn't get the tape open on the gifts and some had problems telling just what was inside without help....it was just a great feeling helping them out in such a simple way

Christmas Eve 2006

I didn't have to brave the malls as I have been ready for awhile...kinda scary really, lol!! I have never been this prepared before!

Kids went to bed about a half hour ago and Mike has just gone down to the garage to get the presents from 'Santa'. Once I get them around the tree and the stockings filled, I'm off to bed! Gotta work tomorrow, but they are letting me come in 2 hours later, so I can at least spend some of the morning with the kids opening presents.

They were pretty excited when I tucked them in tonite...ya gotta luv it!!

Our Tree This Year

Well here it is, I took this this morning,

you get a pic of the tree and a pic of the kids
with our injured pooch!!lol
Not a great pic of the tree, the lights aren't really
showing well in the morning light,
but we dont' care for a lot of fluff,
mainly just tree!!lol
Can't put the rest of the decorations on now
that I found them cuz it's a spruce and we need
to get some of those little metal hooks!
I had some but they've gone missing too!

Pic of our Broken Pooch

Here he is Drifter!

This pooch is a cat, I swear!
He has nine lives and has already used up 2
and he's not even 3 years old yet, lol!!

Last year he got deathly ill and racked up a huge
bill at the vets when he just stopped eating,
he was getting sick and wearing away to nothing!
I think he must have gotten some kind of poisoning
or something...heck the vet doesn't even know
what it was still for sure....thankfully, after a stay
there and some intervenous feeding he was at least
well enough to come home though he still wouldn't eat
much and was very listless. He recouperated though
and was as good as normal in a few months.

Now he's done gone and broken a leg.
Not sure if you saw my other post on this,
but he got hit by a car. Luckily for him and us,
the car saw him and he saw the car and they
both put the brakes on and he only suffered a broken
leg....could have been much worse!

Now just 6 weeks with the cast on,
and we have to try and keep him still so the cast
doesn't rug to much and cause sores....
ya, keep a border collie still!!lol

My Wicked Weekend!

 I had a wonderful weekend

Got my shopping finished up on Friday,
and had to work Saturday.

After work I boogied home and we headed for my
sisters just north of where I work.
All of my step family was there and it was so good to
see them! We had a great time, in all there were
26 of us there. We got home about 11:30 that nite
and I opened up a card that my step-gramma had given
me and inside was a wad of cash!! I couldn't believe my
eyes and almost cried as I showed it to Mike.
How very generous that was of her!!
I phoned her at my sisters house the next morning to say thanx
so much and she said she was happy to do it.

I played hookey from work the next day
cuz Mike's work was  having a 'brunch' at one of the
restaurants here in town. It was pretty much a
hot buffet with sausage, bacon, pancakes, homefries,
cinnamon rolls, fruit, punch and juices.
We all went and had a good breakfast!

That day turned a little sour when the kids were
getting home from Sunday school though

Our red border collie Drifter was hit by a car!
Luckily though the other driver  saw him and had
slowed down and Drifter had seen the car and slowed
down so it ended up he broke his leg, which in all
is just another adventure for us now, in trying to keep
a border collie still, lol, and trying to keep the cast dry
until the end of January! Could have turned out
much worse so I am thrilled that that is the least of
our worries!

Then Sunday nite we were off to the church to watch
3 of the kids in a Christmas concert. They were soooo
adorable!!!lol Afterwards they had snacks in the
basement and I've never seen so many goodies
before in one place, lol!! Yummmmmmy, is all I have to say!
A few of the ladies came up to me and told me what
wonderful kids I had and that it was a pleasure to have
them there. They were so well behaved and polite....
and I have to say that as a mom, that is the greatest
compliment I could ever get!!! I was beaming
We were off to McDonalds afterward which we
just brought home to eat while watching the season
finale of Survivor and drat if my fav Ozzie didn't win!lol

But all in all it was just a great family weekend,
a lot of time spent together just bonding with people
we love.....what a great prelude to what I hope will
be a great holiday season!

Well, That was Awkward!

Okay, I've never had this happen to me before, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it!!!

Wednesday after work, I was going out to dinner with some of the girls, so after my shift, I got dressed in my street clothes and put on some perfume....stuff I wear all the time from Avon called Rare Gold. Anyway, I had some stops to make in town before heading down to the restaurant so I stopped at the local Bargain Shop and did a little shopping and got quite a few stocking stuffers

I got up to the cash register and the lady rang in one item and then called over the microphone for someone to come relieve her and then told me that she was allergic to perfume and that mine was really bothering her! Then out the door she ran!

Well, didn't I feel like a real heel standing there!! The other lady came and checked me out and I told her that I hoped the first lady was alright, but when she looked out the door to find her she was nowhere in sight!!I didn't quite know what to feel and was quite embarrassed!

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

I'm thinking that if you have an allergy to perfumes, that the department store where they sell lots of them might now be the best place to work

I'm not sure if I will ever go in the store again

Good Thursday Morning

Not quite sure what's so good about it though, lol!!

I'm just off to take two of the kids to the dentist,
and this afternoon I have to take the car in
to have the brakes checked....
and I'm just hoping that it doesn't cost me an
arm and a leg

Last nite I went out after work with some of the
girls and we had a lovely dinner....
mmmm...Mediterranean pasta with chicken
(and I have left overs in a doggie bag for lunch today, lol)
When I came out to get in the car I put my foot on the
brake and put the car in gear and started rolling
backward!!! Not good!
I drove home though, thank goodness for all those
backroads and no traffic! I think I blew a brake line,
at least I'm hoping that's all it is!
