Cody's Busy Weekend

I'm working all weekend but we will be making

sure that Cody has everything he needs to go on
a week long hiking/camping/canoeing trip up in the
woods of Algonquin park.
He leaves bright and early on Monday morning
at 5 am.....gee I'm having flashbacks of Colin
leaving that same way just a few weeks ago, lol!!

He also has a plant sale and car wash
on this weekend, so I hope it doesn't rain.

Cody Won a Prize

I'm pretty sure that I told you all that my oldest

had participated in a Trash Bash a few weekends ago.
He did this with his Real Life class from school.
It was raining and a miserable day but him and one
other student showed up, lol.

Anyway, some local real estate company was
offering a prize to be drawn for one student who
participated....well he won the draw!!
And it was $200!!!

He was pretty happy when he got home today
to show it to me....he just couldn't believe his luck, lol!!

We've Got Babies....Lots of Them!

 Yep, it's spring, lol.

On the farm that means baby time

This little guy is just a few hours old and momma
surprised us! I had been watching another mare,
(who hasn't even foaled yet, four days later, lol)
and saw this little guy beside his mother in the same field, lol.

This Palamino mare started giving birth just before
supper about a week ago.
Most mares foal very quickly and you miss it, no matter
how often you check on them, lol.
So we put supper on hold and even the little kids got
to see her have this little colt.
Notice that white on his back leg there...
he's still trying to get out of the sack
when I took this pic
We were hoping for a little palamino but
he's all red just like his daddy who lives here too

This little appaloosa colt was the second to be born
about two weeks ago.
His mom isn't the friendliest mare, so it's kind hard
to get close to him in the field but when
we go out to pet the other colt (coming up in the next
pic) this little guy comes real close just wanting
to be spoiled but still afraid to get close enough
for you to touch him, lol!

This little paint colt has just stood up for the first time
He was the first to come this spring and we just
missed his birth, but as you can see he's still
pretty wet so isn't even an hour old yet.

This one is our little pet, lol!!
His mother is the black mare there which you can
hardly see and while she isn't broke to ride,
she is super friendly and so is he!
When we go out to the field he is eager to greet us
and get his neck or behind rubbed, lol.
He follows us around and this is what makes the
other colt in my previous post want some of that
luvin' too

We've already had two offers on this one and he's not even three weeks old yet

And even more babies!!
But these aren't the kind with a mane, lol.
Our Australian shepherd has 4 puppies.
This one is a red and white like two of the others,
and the last one is black and white.
In this pic he's only a two days old.
They all had to go get their tails docked when they
were just 3 days old which sounds horrible,
but that's what the breed does
They are just opening their eyes now, and are
starting to get their legs under them....
look out nowlol

Colin is in Newfoundland

Yep, he's done gone and left me!!LOL

He left yesterday morning at 5 a.m. on a bus bound
for Toronto where they were catching a flight to St. John's.
Just as we were leaving I asked if he had his wallet,
cuz he would need it to show his ID at the airport and
what do ya know, he couldn't find it!!lol
Back in the house we go and after at least 5 minutes
searching we find it, lol

This is a common thing with him, lol, and he has
already replaced his bank card twice within the last
few months because he lost the first one
So I am just hoping that he doesn't lose anything while
on this trip!

He won't be back till Sunday nite,
and he called today at lunch to say that things were
going well and he was having fun.
They were just on their way to have lunch at
Red Pepper.

They will be touring Signal Hill, Cape Spear and
Petty Harbour today and seeing a musical tonite.
They are also going to "The Rooms",
the Botanical Gardens, Freshwater Fluvarium,
a Spirit of Newfoundland dinner theatre,
the Geo center, Quidi Vidi Village
and many more places!
He's going to be pooped out when he gets home, lol!!

Our house is very quiet without him here, as
he is the one who can't sit still and is always
doing/making something, lol.

I have never flown before and this was his very
first time and I really wish that I would have been there
with him It was good to hear his voice today though

I sent him with two disposable cameras,
so I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures when
he gets back

update later....he did bring home a teeny, weeny Coke bottle...
273 ml...you can't even buy them here in Ontario!
