My 1st E Bay Purchase

Well, Colin had been bugging and bugging to get this certain pair of shoes

and of course we could not find them anywhere around here, and the stores even said they couldn't order them in either.....so we took the leap and ordered them on Ebay, all the way from a skateboard shop in California

Didn't realize it took soooo long for our payment (we sent a money order) to get there and then for the shoes to make their way back, lol, and we are still waiting! But the guy e-mailed us back and said that they were being shipped as of last Monday, so Colin is hoping it will be any day now...he really wanted them before school started, so we'll see He ended up paying $76 for them and that was with shipping and handling fees too....not bad I guess, seeing as how he's paying himself

Hello

Well I had to work today and in a few minutes

I have to go pick up Hannah from a party she's at
with a few other people from the church.

The big boys are spending the nite at friends' houses
so it's just Mike and I and the little ones.

We had rain here the other nite too, while we
were camping and our brand new tent is not too
waterproof, LOL!!

That's the first time I've slept on the ground in
over 10 years I think, and I am sooooo suprised that
I wasn't feeling all achy today but I feel just great....
I guess I'm not quite as old as I sound, LOL!

I have to work the weekend but I hope
you all have a great one!

Camping

Packing up right now to head out camping,

even if it's just for the overnite!

I have to work Friday right though till next Sunday
with just a day off, so this is the very last
chance the kids and I will have to get camping.

They are really looking forward to it!
We'll be trying out a new campground in the
neighbourhood, and we'll be sleeping in the tent
I can't remember the last time I slept on the ground, lol.

But the truck is acting up and Mike can't take time
at lunch hour to take us there like he usually does,
so the kids and I are packing up the car and the tent
and we're off!

Cody Got a Job

I forgot to mention that after I got called in the other day to work, I came home at 7 to find Cody gone. He had taken a taxi to No Frills ( a local grocery chain)where he started work!! His very first job!

The morning we were leaving for Havelock we got a call from one of his friends who works there and he said if Cody got his resume in right away, he would pretty much be guaranteed a job....so we did one up on the computer and wouldn't it figure the stupid printer would feed the paper correctly...so we e-mailed it to a friend and then stopped by their house to pick up a copy and off we went to drop it at No Frills.

Mike and I didn't get leaving till two hours after we had wanted to but we said it would be well worth it if it paid off in the end, lol!! And it did

Boy am I looking forward to him paying his own way now, LOL!! No more, mom I need money for the dance, money for lunches, etc.......lol

Back From the Jamboree

Well, we had a fabulous time!!

I have to say though, that there weren't really any 'entertainers' this year. You know, most of them just got up on stage and sang their songs.

I did luv Charley Pride though...he was awesome and funny...though I'm not sure if he was going senile or trying to be funny, LOL!! I still luved him just the same, lol!

We got back around suppertime Sunday nite, and am I sure glad I got unpacked right away....I went to bed early too....good thing cuz I got called in to work yesterday. I went late though because Hannah had a dentist appt. in the morning so I didn't get home till 7 last nite.

Today I've gotten a few loads of laundry done but we are packing once again to go camping. Just the kids and I cuz Mike is working. I'm still trying to get laundry caught up too!

I work all next week filling in for the other girls holiday and I still need to get some school shopping done

I have to say I am really looking forward to school starting again, when I have a little more time for myself

I've Got my Journal Back!

Well I ended up calling my aunt about my journal and her and my cousin went in and walked the roads there to see if they could find it...talk about sweet!

These are dirt roads and the driveway to the house we stay at is about a kilometer long and we are the only ones that use it. Even the main road which really couldn't be called main, lol, but it does have a name....well, it's only mainly travelled by locals and most of them know us, soooooo.......

yes, another of my cousins happened to be driving by just on the road past the end of the driveway and there it was!!!! She recognized our names and left it at her mom's (my aunt's) and I got it back today!!! YIPPEE!!

I just couldn't stand the not knowing today and finally I had to go and look myself, lol!! I had Hannah in the tub and had to be back to pick Cody up for 5 at a friends house and then he had a soccer game tonite at 7.....but it was like now or never cuz I'm working all weekend and we have soccer too, so if I didn't go back I probably wouldn't get back for a long time.

Anyway, I packed the kids up on the spur of the moment and off we went. It's a 267 km round trip and we were back by 6:30....yep, a little late to pick Cody up but he met us at the soccer field and all was well!

Back From Our Holiday

 And busy, busy, busy still!!

I can't believe that in less than a week we will
be leaving for the jamboree....
I still need to get unpacked from this holiday!

We had tons of food left over, and other
than that everything's back to normal.
We had 3 soccer games last nite when we got home
and won only one of them, but I still get a kick
out of watching them all play.

The tournament is this weekend and I have to
work so will miss a few games.

Our weather was perfect for our holiday
and the only downfall was on the way home
when I realized I had left my journal on the roof
of the car and we lost it going down the road
somewhere!!!

I have called my aunt back there and she is on the
lookout...but I may just drive back myself
tomorrow when I get some time...
it's almost 2 hours from here, but I had a year
of my life in that book

Gotta boogie and get some supper made before
soccer tonite....last regular game of the season.

Here's a pic of the kids trying to catch candy in a toss,
that's the creek in behind them there and the
old house is just to the left of the pic.
There were 77 people at the reunion,
only about half of the family really!
