It's Friday....

.and I am officially on vacation!!!

Tomorrow we are having a barbecue and party for Hannah, after her and Colin and Colton come back from a church picnic about 2:30. My mom will be staying the weekend too.

I'm hoping to get camping with the kids sometime this week. No chance of that on the weekend, as the local provincial park is booked solid and that's where the kids like to go.

Next weekend, we are having our yard sale, and all this week Colin has promised me that he will help me to get that ready. Him and Cody were done school today and I still haven't seen them since I got home from work. Cody is at his girlfriends and needs to be picked up at 9:30 (darn it, cuz I wanted to watch 'The Possession of Emily Rose' which premieres tonite!) and Colin has called from a friends house to say he's spending the nite.

Right now, I just wanna go to bed already! I was up way too late last nite, had a busy, busy day....after work had to pick up cake and presents for this weekend, did a quick supper, and then off to watch 3 soccer games. We didn't get home till after 9 and then I cut Cody's hair and cleaned up the kitchen. Then just had to watch 'Windfall' which I missed earlier in the night and it wasn't over till midnite! Then up at 4:30 this morning for work again

Lack of sleep just doesn't cut it when you get older does it? Not like when we were young and foolish and just didn't know any better, lol!!

Goodbye Bandit :(

We lost one of our beloved dogs the other day

He had been missing the whole day before,
and Mike and I suspected the worse
because we knew how he had been failing lately.
Thank goodness he wasn't sick,
but he had definitely been showing signs of age.

Unfortunately it was the kids who found him
Just laying down in the field beside the house....
they had kicked a soccer ball over there and saw him!
Mike said it didn't look like he was in pain,
because there was no pawing of the ground or
anything around him,
and like I said he hadn't been in pain,
so maybe it was a stroke or something else

He was almost 15 years old,
and he was a big old goof, lol!
He was so timid, and I used to call him an oaf, lol!
Though everyone who pulled into our driveway
wouldn't get out of the car because of his size
He came to us from my sisters in Toronto
so he's been a part of our family for a long time

Yes, even though he looked big and ferocious, he was just a big baby, lol!!

Here a few years ago, someone had seen him wandering around in the ditch not too far from here, and they picked him up and took him home!! We thought we had lost him then, and I used that picture above to make flyers and post them about town. I even put it on the radio.

Turns out someone saw it in the library and realized that their neighbour had Bandit! And he had been there for two weeks It was such a relief to know that he had been well looked after...the people said that if no one claimed him they were just going to keep him.

He will be missed and already is. Last nite we were outside and the kids heard a noise and Hannah said "Oh, that's probably just Bandit, he's always over there" or something to that effect. She had forgotten that he wasn't here anymore
