Mike Gets a New Job

Weather here was lovely also. I drove down by the lake on the way home and the water was a beautiful green, it was sooo pretty!

Very busy day tomorrow. Hannah goes to the sitters tomorrow and after work we need to pick up a birthday cake for Cody and then come home and make him the tacos he requested for supper.

Mike is starting a new job tomorrow. He got a call on Friday from a big Renovating company here in town, and they are starting a new landscaping division and wanted to know if he was interested in being the supervisor. He went to meet the guy today, and was there for an hour and a half, lol. He is still off on Unemployment which happens every winter because of the nature of the job, but this guy says he'll keep him over the winter and he'll work for the renovating side of the company then, so that will be a big change for us as he's been layed off every winter that we've lived here

Gotta Return My Car :(

I'm leaving soon for the city.

Gotta return my G6 today, and do a little
shopping for Cody's birthday next week.
It gets harder and harder to buy for boys once
they get past the age of 15 or solol

It was cool to drive this cute little car for awhile,
it has an awesome sound system, lol!

I think I may just treat myself to lunch today too

I have to work this weekend so I won't be
up to much else probably, lol.

I'm Driving a Brand New....

.....Pontiac G6!  You know...the kind Oprah gave away on her season opener, lol!

It's a nice new toy, lol, even though I will have to take it back on Thursday or Friday, lol!!

First time I've ever rented a car (especially nice because insurance is paying for it and not me, lol!) and now I'm scared to death someone is going to scratch it or worse yet, dent it!!

This is why it's incredibly nice to drive my old beaters, lol, that way I don't have all the worrying to do about those scratch and dents!!

This one has a cd player, and a remote entry, and while I know that probably most of you have those on your car...this is a first for me, and I'm having fun!!heehee

Hannah and I had a nice day in the city, and picked up two of the kids from school on our way home. We had tuna casserole for supper, and garlic bread and now I'm winding down before I go to watch '24' and get to bed.

I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow...I'll be at work showing off my new carlol

Pic of my Dented Car

I am much better today, mostly because the deer got up and ran away. I only hope that it is doing fine. When I sit in the car I can still see how that deer looked on the hood of my car when I hit him! I am just so glad that it didn't roll right up through my windshied

I took a pic of the car before I left for work this morning and you can see how the hood has buckled a bit and where it took out the plastic covers of my lights. Even that big panel in the middle has two holes in it where the brightest light spots are. I haven't called the insurance company yet, but it should be covered under comprehensive, only we probably won't be claiming it anyway. By the time I pay the deductible anyway and having the claim on the policy may bring our rate up, it's probably cheaper in the end to get the parts at the wreckers. Heck we only paid $1,000 for the car in the first place and I bet it'd cost that to get it fixed at the garage!

I Hit a Deer This Morning :(

 I couldn't believe it!!!!!

It is just getting light now in the mornings when I leave so it's that time when it's harder to see and even though I knew it was an area where the deer cross, I just couldn't stop in time!!!

There were three of them and I hit the last one I braked, so at least I was going much slower than I had been, but after I pulled over and looked behind me to where it was laying on the other side of the road, I just started bawling especially when I kept looking in my mirror, even though I tried so hard not too!!!! and it lifted it's head and looked at me!!!

Anyway, I called Mike on the cell phone, and got out of the car to see the damage while I was talking to him. I had gotten the answering machine when I called and by the time he picked up he was pretty worried about me, and wanted to know if I was hurt....no not me I said, but the poor deer is still alive!!

Anyway he called the police for me, cuz I was finding it hard to speak without starting to cry again and a man in a half ton truck stopped. He was going to pick up the deer for me, as he'd just picked one up that was hit just up the road. Sounds horrible but they take them to the zoo here for the lions!

Then right before our very eyes the deer got up and ran away!!!!! I only hope that he's alright!!!

The cop let me go on to work, late as I was, and there is alot of damage to the front of my car, but I was fine and the deer was fine, and that's all that mattered to me!

I'll get a pic of the car and post it later on, gotta go cuz they are calling me for supper

Dana Reeves Dies of Lung Cancer

This made me so sad to hear this news this morning

After fighting so valiantly alongside her 'Superman' and being an inspiration to millions of people, she lost her battle with lung cancer. She was only 44 Now she will continue to be the angel she was, only she'll do it in heaven along with her husband

It's the Weekend

I'm off this weekend and the kids and I are

headed to Kingston for my oldest nephews 18th
birthday. What the heck do you buy for an
18 y/o boy  anyway?lol
We usually just gives the older kids money,
but I wanted something a little more personal
for a special birthday

My sister had a leftover turkey from Christmas
so we will be having a lovely turkey dinner...mmmm
Won't be back till wayyyyy late tonite though

Mike isn't coming because we had trouble on the farm
yesterday. One of the cows gave birth out in the snowbank
of all places and the poor little calf was half
frozen. He seems to be coming along but he needs
a close watch, to make sure he is drinking
and staying warm.
