Back From the Jamboree!

I'm going to try very hard not to let this turn into

a book ladies...I promise, LOL!!
BUT...we had the very best time!!
It was EXCELLENT!!

Even being stuck in a traffic jam for almost an hour and a
half waiting to get through the gates couldn't ruin
the experience!

We got there about 3 on Thursday and set up our
chairs wayyyyyyy back from the stage because there were
SOOOOOOO many people there this year!! It was
unbelievable just how many more than last year!!
Anyway we saw Beverly Mahood, Marty Stuart (he was
fantastic!) Tanya Tucker ( I think she's forgetting that
she isn't as young as she once was!)and
Johnny Reid-my favourite of the nite!!
He is from Scotland which I didn't know from watching
his videos and listening to his songs (Sixty to Zero, and
You Still Own Me) I could have listened to his accent
forever, lol, and he wrote and sang a song about
his dad that made me and my cousin tear up!

Next nite we saw Emerson Drive, Sugarland and the
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band plus other throughout the day.
It rained off and on and was actually pouring by the
time Sugarland came on...so we were all sitting there
in our big cheap plastic raincoats that we bought there, lol! We must have looked quite the tickets, LOL!!

Saturday came my biggie...George Canyon!!
He was the one I wanted to see most and I ended
up standing in line to get an autograph and couldn't
even see his show!! My son loves him though and I
had taken his CD with me and told him that if he was
signing I would get it autographed for him.
I had a great time chatting with the people in line though,
and the lady behind me let me pop out for a minute to
watch at least one of his songs!!
My two hour wait was more than worth it when
I got the autograph for my son and also got to
shake his hand!!
And lookie here....

I got a nice close-up too!!
Here he is signing my nephew's hat!
I got a pic of him signing for me but all you
can see is my back, lol!
My bil got video of most of the songs in his
concert so I can't wait to see that!

Later the nite we saw SheDaisy, Travis Tritt (he was
too cool!! singing all of his great stuff and also a new
one he wrote for his son...I can't wait till it comes on
radio!! He also did a wardrobe change and then came
back for an encore to do some old classics!! An
excellent performace!) and then at midnite
Aaron Pritchett (John Roland Wood and Lucky for Me)who was excellent!!
My sil came down with me and we stood right in
front of the stage and partied with all the other
groupies!!!LOL You could tell by looking at him
that he was tickled pink to see everyone singing along
to his songs. He did some old rock classics too,
he put on a great performance!

All in all it was just a great time, we partied till late
2 or 3 every nite! Met lots of great people...there just
aren't any others like country music fans!!

We got home late last nite and heard all of the kids
stories about their adventures while we were gone, lol.

Happy Hump Day

 Hello on the lovely Wednesday!!

We have been having spectacular weather here,
I just hope it holds out for the jamboree!!

I will probably be spending most of the day
packing for our trip, but I will be popping back in
with some siggies for our trivia winners for sure.

Mike already took our trailer up last weekend and
we are farther away then last year. We had spent
the past two years on the same spot but it was
already gone when they got there this year.

I'm a little worried about leaving the two oldest
here alone I know they are very responsible
and all but I'll still worry I know about all the things
that 'might' happen, lol!!

The two youngest are looking forward to going
to gramma and poppas tomorrow, though I'm thinking
that Hannah doesn't quite realize yet that we will
be leaving her there! I hope there aren't
too many tears!

Baby Pic at the Wedding

Yep, that's me and my newest little nephew Ben.

He is Tricia's (gibby1977 here) littlest one, 7 weeks old.

We had a great time yesterday at the wedding.
The minister was barely audible but he had some
pretty interesting things to say, not the usual
ceremony for sure.
The bride (my step-sister) and the groom looked
very happy!! It was soooo nice to see them
looking so in love!

We didn't get home till almost 11 last nite
and I was straight to bed as I had to work this
morning. One more day tomorrow and then I am
off till next Tuesday.

Both boys were gone when we got home last
nite. Colin had gone to Hamilton for the weekend with
a friend who had a baseball tournament up there,
and Cody had a friend pick him up to go to another
overnite tent party. It was kind wierd to come home
and they were both gone

New Car gets E-Tested

I think it's going to be a rainy day here today,

which is alright because we need the rain but...
we have a birthday party to attend this afternoon
at the beach, where I am helping out to BBQ and taxi
kids there. I do hope we don't get rained out

I have to get the trailer cleaned out too so Mike
can take it up Sunday morning to save our spot for the
I can't believe the time is here already!!
Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker and George Canyone
will be there to name a few.

Plus a trip to town to get an e-test done on the
new car and all the licensing and ownership switched over.
We have been driving with a 10 day trip permit, because
I couldn't get a test scheduled till then.
There are only two spots in town that do them, but
I'm sure we will pass with flying colors..
at least I hope so!!

Tomorrow my step-sister is getting married.
I've heard rain forecast for then too,
but I'm crossing my fingers for her.

Out to Dinner with Girls from Work

We went to town this morning to pick up a few

groceries and I've done a load of laundry
but that's about all I've accomplished so far.

Tonite I am going out to dinner with some of
the girls from work. One of them is leaving after being
there for 15 years and I've know her since I started
there 13 years ago.
We are going out for chinese buffet and
I can't wait, lol, it's been awhile since I pigged out
on those goodies!!

My 14 y/o just took our old van out to the fields
to bomb around in, that's what we are using it
for these days, lol. The two little ones went with
him so it's very quiet in here right now.

Busy, busy Week

This has been such a busy week for me!

We had a great time up north with my mom on Sun, Mon and Tuesday, and had a soccer game Tuesday nite when we got home. Back to work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and we had soccer games all those nites too. Playoffs began on Friday nite and Cody's team lost They weren't too surprised though, as they played against the only undefeated team in the league. I got up at 4 to go to work on Saturday so I could make most of our soccer games that day. I missed the two in the morning but caught the other 4. We didn't get home till 8:30 last nite.

I am off this week for 4 days starting Tuesday!! I can't wait!!lol

My Birthday Present

 Isn't she absolutely adorable

and ohhhhh sooooo chic!!!!
A good old country gal if I've ever seen one!lol

I went to the post office to pick up a parcel
today and ta-da!!!! there she was inside a
wrapped shoebox!!

This came from a good friend I met on-line!
And as you can see she did make that long trek
from the Netherlands, all the way to my little
town in Ontario, in one piece!!!

What a wonderful surprise!!!!

Our New Car

Here's my new car
with the two littlest rugrats inside,
sitting on the little back seats.
These have become the favourite seats in
our vehicle now, lol, whereas before everyone was
always calling 'Shotgun!' LOL!

It's a Mercury Sable and seats 8 when the back
is folded up like that.

It's a big difference driving so close to the ground now, lol, after having a van for so long. Though it's nice to have a speedometer, since I had been driving with a broken one for over a year, with no speeding tickets!!LOL

Kinda funny having a 'nose' to look over too, because the van was pretty flat on the front and you couldn't see it, lol.

I luv it!
