Working for the Weeekend

Well, I have to work for the weekend,

but I dont' mind so much.

When I got to work this morning the other laundry girl was
there and so was the housekeeper and they had me convinced
I was there on the wrong day!! Turns out they were called
in to different departments and the joke was on me, lol!!
If it hadn't been for me missing Wednesday I wouldn't have
been so easy to convince, lol, and they knew that!

I stopped and picked the kids up from school on the way home
and Colin is out in the living room playing his tuba.
Needless to say you can't hear much of anything else in here
right now, lol!!

Thursday....TV nite

 Gonna say goodnite.

Survivor starts in a few minutes and I have an
appt. to cut my son's hair too, he's just in the shower now.
He has his grad pics(for grade  taken in less than 2 weeks
so he figures if I cut it now, it will look great by then, lol.

Also have two yummy cinnamon buns waiting for me
that he just finished baking about 15 minutes ago.

This is my tv nite.
First Survivor, then CSI, then ER.
I hope I stay awake long enough!

I just Got a Crazy Call

It was from work!! And she was saying 'Gee, I've got you down to work today'!!! I was thinking this was my only day off this week and then back to work until next Monday but apparently tomorrow, was my only day off...well now I have two off!! I can't believe that I got it mixed up, but I told her that I've already made plans to pick the kids up from the school and the library so I would just have to take this as an absent day!!

I still can't believe it and I'm feeling a little guilty!

Time for a Haircut?

It's a beautiful sunny day here too but

they are calling for a snowstorm overnite and I have
to work in the morning!!

It's a beautiful day for a road trip Julie! Have fun!!

Not a whole lot planned here today.
We need to go to town and pick up some water
for our water cooler.
And sometime today I need to get Hannah's hair cut.
I promised her I would do it, as she's never
had it cut before and the weekend is almost through
and it's still not done.
I think I'm putting it off because I love it long
but I have to say that she is losing some of the curls
she had because it is getting so heavy.

Zipperr's again!

I'm finally enjoying a day off. Hannah is in school today so I'm
home alone. Already cleaned up the living room while I watched 'Analyze
That'. It wasn't as good as the first one 'Analyze This but I do like
Billy Crystal and Robert Deniro.

I have plans to make some pumpkin muffins today,
get the kitchen cleaned up (Mike has been cooking there for the last
4 days while I've been working!!)
and then I'm picking Cody up at the high school so we can
go to the mall and get him a new winter jacket.
I just hope they aren't all sold out already.
We've got that same old problem as usual in that his zipper
is splitting. The coat still looks brand new even though it's about
3 or 4 years old.

Called in to Work

I was just sending all the kids to the bus this morning and dreaming about my day I get to spend all to myself when the phone rang. Yep, it was my boss, who asked if I could come in to work...and I went and said alright before I knew what I was doing, lol!!! I just keep thinking about how nice the extra money is though so I'll have to wait till next week for my 'me' day!

We got a little snow overnite and the roads were still a little dicey when I went into work but by the time I came home the sun was shining on all that nice fresh snow...beautiful!!

We finally got our cake and ice cream tonite after a yummy bowl of chili. Mike blew out his candle and opened his gifts and then we played a game of Cranium.

I'm working right through till Monday now but I'll pop back in as soon as I can

Waiting For Daddy

Well Hannah and I were home today. Spent the morning doing laundry and cleaning up the dining room. Didn't want to do too much though as it's the Chinese New Year and I heard on the radio that they don't do a whole lot of housecleaning today because it's said it may sweep out all of the good vibes with the dust. Sounds good to me!!lol

This afternoon we went to pick up the boys from school and Cody from the library where he is still volunteering even though he's already accumulated his 40 hours he needs to graduate high school. The big boys picked up some tools for Mike, who turned 39 today (and officially holding, lol) We also needed some eggs to bake his cake. When we got home the little ones made him a card and they waited and waited and waited some more for dad to come home!

He had gone to a farm show in Toronto and didn't get back till 9:30 tonite after everyone had fallen asleep waiting for cake and ice cream. I was given strict orders that he doesn't get to unwrap presents now till they all get up in the morning, lol!!

Oooooops....I forgot!

Alright, I'm starting to get a little worried about my memory.

I stopped downtown today on my way home from work and made a few stops. Well one was at A&P to get groceries. If you purchase alot of stuff they put it in those boxes and set it out on the conveyor belt so you can pull up with your car and load it in.

Wellllll....lol.....I got all the way home and realized I had forgotten a whole box of food!!! So back to town I went!

How is your memory?

What was the last thing you remember forgettting???lol

A 3 Day Weekend

I was thinking of spring this morning when I woke and heard the birds singing outside the window. But I'm afraid to get my hopes up even though we are having a wonderful high today of +8, because I know there is another winter storm just lurking out there somewhere, lol! The kids and Mike are all home today so it's a three day weekend here.

The kids and I had a great day Saturday when we went to the city to shop. Got some great deals on cd's (a new Don Williams to add to my collection of oldies, lol), dvd's (my 14 y/o added to his collection a new Lord of the Rings that he didn't have yet) and my 15 y/o wanted to add the Rocky collection to his stash and was intent on buying it. No matter how I tried I couldn't talk him out of spending his money on that, not to mention he was a little short and wanting a loan, lol, and finally after all of my efforts I had to let him in on the secret that I already purchased this for him at Christmas time and was saving it for his birthday!!

Colton came home with a Lord of the Rings game for the Gameboy Advance and also with two new pets. Red-bellied Newts. They are kinda cute and ya gotta love the internet for the never ending source of material on how to care for them. Hannah came home with a small baby care pack. Diapers, food bottles, even a potty, lol!!

We stopped at McD's for supper and didn't get back home till around 8 after driving all the way in the thick, thick fog!

I hope everyone's day is as sunshiny as ours is here!   Hugs, Joni

Bomb Scare!!

Well Hannah and I didn't pick too great an afternoon to be going into town!!

We got there and there were police all over the place detouring everyone from the center of town, where it turns out there was a bomb scare in one of the banks!! We ate lunch at McDonald's and watched the commotion from inside and before we were finished the police had left so apparently it was a hoax. Just like the one last week in a town not far from here..thank goodness!!

It was such a wonderful day to be walking around town and we visited the thrift store next. We found a pair of pants for one of the boys, a robe for one of the boys and a cute pair of gloves for Hannah. Sometimes you can really hit the jackpot there and other days not, lol! Still we were happy with our purchases.

We also had to drop off a water sample from our well at the local Health Unit where it will be sent away for testing. I am expecting it to come back the same as always, not drinkable. Since the boys were little I have been bringing water home from work for drinking because we had the well tested once and it had an e-coli reading so we've just brought water in ever since. We were told we could just boil it for 3 minutes or add a drop of bleach but we felt safer getting it elsewhere, especially when we kept having more babies and  more babies, lol!!

Then off to that darned old grocery store again and I barely managed to come out of there under $100!! So what's new right?? I stopped for ketchup, lol!!!

Well I'm off to play on the computer as I've only 3/4's of an hour before the boys are home from school and they'll be wanting their turn. Have a sunshiney day!!

On our Way to Town

Hannah and I are on our way to town.

Only one home with me today, thank goodness.
Yesterday Colton had a stomach ache(???) and yet
he felt fine as soon as the bus left. He has been trying to pull
this for awhile now with calls home and I was sick of fighting with him
about it, lol. He was very bored all day he said, as I wouldn't let him
use the computer and his big brother Cody (who was home too, as they
have a just finished exams and start a new semester Friday) wouldn't
let him use his Gameboy advance. So he was more than ready to go
back to school this morning, lol!

Cody went off to his friends house last nite and will be staying over
tonite too I imagine.
Hannah and I plan on stopping somewhere for lunch and
also at the thrift store to see what we can find. Picking up a few
groceries also. It's such a beautiful sunny day here...great for walking
about town!!
