Been a Busy Week Here!

We have had quite a week here and it's so hard to believe that it's the end of May already! Hannah and I had a lovely visit with Andy and my sister and of course our time there passed way too quickly too I do not envy all those millions of people living in Toronto though, yikes!! If I had to drive in that traffic all the time, my stress level would be through the roof!!

I worked on Friday and I'm off until Thursday of this week. On Saturday, we all went yard saling and came home with some good bargains on stuff for the farm. Rakes, shovels, a gas can and a couple of screens that will adjust to fit the old windows in this farm house. I came home with some beautifully delicate doilies too that someone had worked hard to make and I got them for a steal I love old stuff like that and they will look perfect under the old wooden table in our dining room that used to belong to gramma. The rest of the day was spent cleaning animals...    lol, yes we have a myriad of animals in the house as well as out, and then cleaning bedrooms.

On Sunday we made the trek to the city, which is a half hour away so Colton could spend his birthday money that was burning a hole in his pocket, lol! We stopped at the park and ate lunch courtesy of McDonald's purchased with some free coupons that I had won on the radio. Once home we were a little concerned about a noise coming from the rear of the van but seeing as how the trip to town is short we took the van back to town where the kids and I enjoyed a free family movie shown on the last Sunday of the month courtesy of the funeral home in town. I had been looking forward to seeing 'Home on the Range' the animated Disney movie but was a little dissappointed in it. Not as funny as it could have been I thought! Well we stopped at McDonald's yet again this time for their sundae treats and now the sound in the back of the van was a little too noisy to be ignored!! Oh no, what was it now?? But I called Mike and him and a friend came to check it out, only to find that a something or other had come loose in the wheel well and it was easily fixed. Thank goodness!!

And after all of this I forgot to tell of the new colt that was born here early Saturday morning. He is gorgeous and it is a beautiful sight indeed to watch the new little foals running in the field with their mommies close behind, never letting them get too far away.

Belle and Danny pics :)

This is Belle and her new little colt Danny, born this morning about 6:30 a.m. I took these pics about 2 hours ago and it looks as if everything is coming along nicely.

And a pic of daddy too

Yard Saling with the Kids

I got to go yard-saling this morning, only thing is Mike had to work for a few hours and I ended up taking the little ones with me! We were gone for 3 hours and got some pretty good deals. Hannah came home with a goodie purse full of shoes, bracelets and the like and she even got a few things given to her because the people heard her ask and me say no, so they let her have it for free, lol!! I ended up coming home with a lot of things for the outdoors, like shovels, a rake, a couple folding screens for some of our old windows here and a gas can. I did get myself a book by oh, I can't think of his name but the guy who wrote Bridges of Madison County. It looks good!

I even got some gardening done when we got back and then we went to check out our newest little colt that was born just this morning.

Never a Dull Moment on the Farm

The horses are loose!!

Mike bought two new horses late last week and he was out working with them and slipped in the mud and let one loose and she is out with the cows doing a mad dance, lol!! I'm off to help him round them up, geez could be awhile, they are still getting used to the place!

Well we had to come back in at 9:30 as we just couldn't see anymore, and nope we didn't catch her up!! Not good seeing as how she has a lead shank hanging from her halter, but once she was gone there was no way she was gonna just let us catch her back up, lol!! Go figure, she must be a girl, LOL! We just have to hope that she doesn't get tangled in that rope, but she should be fine as long as she doesn't get running through the nite.

She had driven all the cows right through the electric fence way out back so we drove them back home again and Mike will have to go out in the morning to fix up the fences they tore down. He's already called work and told them he'll be a little late.

Yeehaw, never a dull moment!!

What's With all this Rain?

Finally!!   A morning off, which means I actually got to sleep in till 7 instead of waking to the alarm at 4:30! Why does it seem that no matter how early you have to get up in the morning, waking to the alarm makes it even worse??

I worked the whole long weekend here in Canada, which was just as well because we had alot of rain and thunder storms the whole 3 days. I really felt sorry for all those campers and cottagers who were so eager to get away for the first 'unofficial' weekend of summer only to be cold and wet the whole time. Even the first soccer games of the season have been cancelled here because the fields are just too wet to play in.

Hannah and I are looking forward to tomorrow, as we will be going to visit with my sister and her new little one, Andy who has grown a whopping 4 inces since last we saw him at Easter! It's quite a trip, 3 hours from where we are so we will be staying overnite. I can't wait!

I found out her hubby has been in the paper and on the news lately because of the high gas prices. He helps to run an internet gas site, where everyday people can post what the prices are in their area, and he had interviews with 3 t.v. stations and the Globe and Mail newspaper. You can check out the site HERE if you like!

Lesson Learned?

Once upon a time there was a 7 y/o boy named Colton. He was playing outside with his
little sister Hannah and when daddy went outside to do chores, he
noticed that both tail lights on the horse trailer were smashed to bits!!
When questioned Hannah immediately piped up to say 'Colton' did it!
Colton didn't refute the accusation so daddy scolded him and asked why he did it and the whole shebang. He told him point blank that his birthday money he received just a week ago, was going to go to pay
for brand new taillights and then the wailing began!! Poor little Colton didn't seem too concerned at getting into trouble but was quite upset about losing his money!
He went with his daddy the next day and forked over money from his own pocket to pay for new ones.
Mommy and Daddy are hoping he learnt his lesson!

Heehee, just thought I'd share with you all

Bed Time!

We had some wonderful news tonite when we got home from
Colin's soccer practice! His friend Daniel who was in hospital with
complications from an appendix operation, got out today. The
antibiotics did the trick thank goodness and he didn't have to have
more surgery to insert a tube to drain off an abcess that had formed.

Colin's soccer practice went well, he managed to get on a team
with his favourite colour and also got his fav number too, lol!! And the rain that had started here stopped long enough for them to have
a game of scrimmage.

I must get to bed, lol, I stayed up too late last nite and was
a half hour late this morning!!

Appendixes

Oh dear, I've gotten nothing done today at all Well I did get some clothes hung on the line, 2 loads in fact and another on the way. But I got this stupid little thingy fixed in my AOL settings that wouldn't let me save some graphics as .gifs and I finally figured out how to get around that this morning and I've been snagging ever since, LOL!!
Now if I could only find time to get some new webpages done for my site Hopefully next week I will find the time somewhere.

We had Hannah's soccer practice last nite and she knows another little girl on her team, she goes to the sitters with her. She had a blast and they are just too cute to watch, lol! And Colin finally got a call from his coach so he is very happy that they will be having a practice tomorrow nite.

We got a call this morning from a mom of one of his friends. Colin's friend has been off school because he had to have his appendix out, last week and he was expected to be back on Monday, but wasn't and Colin has been calling their place trying to get a hold of him and only getting an answering machine. She called this morning to tell us that he indeed did come home before the weekend but had to go back again to the hospital on Sunday nite because an abcess had formed and it was infected!!! They have him on antibiotics through his intervenous but don't know if they will work or not and he may have to be moved to another hospital where they will have to insert a tube into his back and let the abcess drain. He will have to be awake for the procedure and will have to wear a bag at home until it all drains out!! I am feeling so sad for Daniel and his family and I'm praying that the antibiotics work. He's only 12 and must be so scared! I had thought that having your appendix removed was a pretty normal routine procedure, but I guess anytime you go in the hospital for even something minor you never know how it will turn out.

I would really appreciate it if you all would keep Daniel and his family in your prayers till he comes home again!

Is There Any Sweeter Sound?

As I sit here at the computer, Hannah is watching 'Hi-5', a bunch of kids singing and dancing and I can hear her out there singing along and dancing!!  Is there any sweeter sound?? She knows all the words to that particular song though I'm not sure I've even heard it before Maybe she watches at the babysitters which kind of makes me sad that there are things already happening in her life that I'm not aware of  , and starting school this September means she will be experiencing more and more without me Which means I had better remember to enjoy these moments while I can, as life is just moving way too fast

A Dreary Day :(

The sun is coming out here finally after a dreary day weatherwise. My day was dreary also and I'll blame it on the weather too, lol!! One of those days where if something can go wrong it will. We have a union at work and I swear all it does is make the girls fight with each other instead of management! I got the crappiest schedule ever posted and also didn't get the holidays I had asked for, which are the exact same ones I have taken since I started 12 years ago

I better get my butt in gear and get supper ready, lol, Hannah is soooo excited about her soccer practice at 6 that she's ready to go now!!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend here. How did your's go??

Mom finally went home today around 4 after we spent the day gardening and digging up some hostas and hollyhocks for her to take with her. We spent some time sitting on the patio in the sunshine drinking coffee and watching Colin put together the 10 ft windmill we got for Christmas. It took him 4 hours in all to do it!

Colton had a wonderful birthday and just now finished eating his piece of Oreo birthday cake that he was too full to finish yesterday, lol! Even though it rained off and on all day and was quite chilly, we did the BBQ'ing and just ate indoors. The little kids spent the day running in and out, the didn't care about the rain

It was quite the difference from Friday when mom got here and it was hot and humid out. mom has a two hour drive to get here but no matter how hot she got in the car, she was darned if she was gonna turn that A/C on, cuz it was only the middle of May don't ya know??!! LMAO!! Too funny!

I'm back to work now tomorrow for the next 8 days, yep, I have to work through out long weekend here in Canada too The other girl I work with is on holiday this week so I'm filling in her shifts too. The paycheque will be nice but we are going to be pretty rushed especially at the beginning of the week with all the soccer practices to fit in. Colin still hasn't heard from his coach and is getting a little discouraged, as he had a coach last year that only held one practice for the team and that was just so he could hand out their jerseys and shorts. I really hope his coach calls soon

We got the van fixed today and thank goodness it was only a rear-wheel cylinder we needed. I had been leaking brake fluid the other day and I'm glad that's all it was, a pretty cheap fix!

Have a fantabulous week folks!!!

Sextuplets...I think this is Jon and Kate Plus 8

I can't even begin to imagine 6 at once!! Yikes!

Apparently the new mom was so overwhelmed she cried uncontrollable when they were born wondering if she could care for that many at once. The couple already have twins at home. They were using fertility drugs both times they became pregnant.

Here's the story:

Gas Prices!

OMG 98.5 in Vancouver and 96.9 in New Brunswick, wow I can't believe it! Why is it so high on both coasts and not here in the middle of Canada, I wonder?? Though I think it's really bad at 83.9!!

I wait until the last minute to get gas hoping that it will come down a little at least and then I'm only getting just enough to get me by and not filling the tank.

Our Birthday Weekend

We didn't get the nice weather we wanted on Saturday and my sister and her family wore shorts and froze, lol! We did do the BBQ'ing in the rain and ate inside though.

The kids had a wonderful time playing together and we had a late supper after my sister left around 5, we didn't eat till 8. Today was a beautiful day and the boys opted to stay home from Sunday school to visit with Gramma. Colin spent his day putting together a 10 ft windmill that we got for Christmas. We had no power from 7-11 this morning cause they were doing maintenance work on the lines around here. I ran into town to pick up a rear-wheel cylinder that I needed to fix the brakes, so that wasn't too bad at all finance wise...what a big relief!! Then mom and I spent the day gardening and enjoying our coffee on the patio.

We ended up sending her home with some hostas, hollyhocks and some nice manure to tend her gardens with, lol!! Better than buying it in the store I say! We've got tons for free!!lol

Still need to bath the kids tonite and do up some Avon and then I have to work all this week until Monday of next, 8 in a row with just Wednesday off, cuz the other girl is on holidays. I am soooo not looking forward to it!

So how did YOUR  weekend go??

Happy Birthday Colton

So far Colton is having a great day and just couldn't wait till
his cousins got here to open a gift. So he is wearing his new
Power Rangers outfit and his new Spiderman sandals.

Not too sure what the weather is gonna turn out to be, as it's still
a little cloudy and cool here but we're gonna get the BBQ up

and running anyway, lol!!

Well that was another one down and only one more birthday to go this year...phew!!lol

Colton made out alright for sure. They've been playing his new Pokeman Gamecube game all day today. Hannah and him have been fighting over some alien megablock thing he got that creates Aliens with playdough, and he doesn't want her to wreck the playdough and she tries to get it everytime he leaves the room, lol!!

He also got $50 cash altogether, not a bad haul I say!! Only now I get to take him to the mall to spend it!

Happy Birthday Colton

It's officially Saturday here and Colton is bound and bent that he will open a gift first thing when he gets up this morning! I'll still be in bed after a late nite, lol!! And to top it off  I still have to wrap his gifts!

Mom and I both fell asleep tonite while watching a movie with the rest of the gang, lol, like mother...like daughter!! She got here about 2 today and will be staying the weekend to visit. Tomorrow we are hoping for nice weather so we can BBQ and have our party outside.

I went into town this evening to pick up a few things and came back to find the boys and Mike had left Mom and Hannah here, as our cows were loose on the back of the property! Mike said the electric fence was nowhere to be seen and had to run a few more strings.

Gonna run and get those presents wrapped now, have a great Saturday everyone!!

Two DJ's Fired

Did you all hear about this?? They were rightly fired in my opinion....the topic they were joking about is in no way a laughing matter!!

PORTLAND, Ore. (May 14) - Two disc jockeys were fired after playing an audiotape of the beheading of American Nick Berg by Iraqi militants, and cracking jokes about the grisly death.

Listeners called the radio station to complain after hearing Berg's bloodcurdling screams in the broadcast of the tape, followed by the DJs laughing and playing musical accompaniments.

The DJs, known as Marconi and Tiny, were fired Thursday from their morning show perch at Portland's KNRK-FM, which is owned by Pennsylvania-based Entercom Communications Corp. Their producer, known as "Nickie J," also was fired. Station employees would not release the legal names of the three.

"It was so over-the-top that I don't know that there is any logical, appropriate way to attempt to spin it," Clark Ryan, Entercom's vice president for FM operations in Portland, said Friday.

The station's manager sent an apology out over the airwaves, saying: "The actions of the KNRK news morning show were insensitive, inappropriate and repulsive. On behalf of Entercom Portland and KNRK, I apologize to our listeners."

Immediately after the broadcast, the DJs were suspended, and then fired the next day, Ryan said. The station specializes in new rock and alternative music from the 1990s.

One of the DJs apologized on his Web site, posting a statement that read, "I have become so numb to the horrific things that happen in this world that I sometimes forget there are still people who feel. I in no way meant to be insensitive to anyone. My comments on this were inapropriate (sic)."

Berg's headless body was found Saturday in Baghdad. Three days later, a videotape posted on an al-Qaida-related Web site showed him decapitated by hooded, armed men.

Welcome to Friday at the Farm

Today there are so many more things I should be doing than sitting here on the puter, lol!! I have a birthday party to plan for tomorrow, a house to clean before my mom gets here in 3 hours and lunch to make for a hungry 3 year old.

Just wanted to welcome you all to my webjournal. Yet another venture into the many forms of communication available on the net today! I could do this all day, lol!!

Next challenge is to add this blog link to my homepage which you can check out in the link above ;o)

It's Friday!

It's Friday!!

Anyone have any plans for the weekend?

Mom is coming today to stay for the weekend and I really should be doing many more things than playing on this puter, lol!! But I'll be having withdrawls as it is while she's here!!heehee

Colton has a birthday tomorrow so we'll be having a party and my sister will be coming with her 3 boys too. I hear it's supposed to be nice weather so we should get to BBQ! I cheated and bought an Oreo Cake at the store, lol, that's what he said he wanted and it's easy too!!

Soccer practice went well last nite, Cody's coach seems to be very nice and he's playing for the McDonald's team...yummm, lol!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Blood Donor Clinic

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Hannah and I are just on our way to town. We need to do some
grocery shopping and pick up Cody from the library and go give some
blood at the local clinic. Last time I went and took Hannah she loved it
when they fussed over her and gave her timbits and juice and
a coloring book to keep her busy while I was busy, lol!

Need to get some goodies for this weekend as my mom will be coming
to stay for the weekend and we will be having Colton's 7th birthday
party on Saturday.

I've been in and out all day quick, and realized I hadn't done up my
Avon order to send on-line, so had to get that done quick too, lol! It was
due at 7 this morning...I was only a couple hours late!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day!

I only started giving blood a couple of years ago. I had always wanted to do it and just never seemed to find the time, now I just make the time every couple months when they are in town. It takes about an hour and I remember the first time I went I was so surprised at all the questions they ask you, it's like being interrogated I swear, lol!!

I usually make an appt. to go and wouldn't you know today was the first time I haven't had one and when we got there it was packed full, with people standing nearly out the door waiting!! So strange for here but I come to find out that one of my sons close friends has a sister who has developed lieukemia and their dad is a firefighter here and they posed a challenge to the cops in the area to see who could donate the most blood at this clinic. We couldn't wait that long as I had to pick up Cody so we left...ah well...I'll give the next time again when everyone else has forgotten about it. I'm really looking forward to hearing how well the clinic went tomorrow on the local news.

Anyway this girl is only 11 and I do hope that she fairs well in her treatments, as I've certainly heard how grueling they can be. It's times like these that I am soooooo thankful of my family's health. I can't imagine the fear that family is living with, and it breaks my heart to hear of a sick child
